North East Alliance

Cruden Bay Golf Club
A tricky welcome for the early starters today at Cruden Bay. Hard overnight frost meant the shorter winter course was in play. Something more like ice hockey rather than golf for the first few groups as it was borderline impossible to control the ball when it landed.
The greens however had decent surfaces but were also very tricky on some difficult slopes.
Professional Philip McLean (Peterhead Golf Club) came out on top today with a strong finish to shoot a very solid round of 65(-2). Philip had 4 birdies at 4, 16, 17, 18 and dropped at 3 & 5.
Philip won by one shot from the in-form amateur player John Borthwick Marshall Leisure - Craibstone Golf with a very good 66(-1).
The players and committee would like extend thanks to Cruden Bay Golf Club and the staff for hosting today and providing excellent catering and hospitality

Next week the Alliance will visit Fraserburgh Golf Club
