The

re-launch of the West Lothian High Schools Golf Championship has had

another boost this week as world-renowned local golf brand Shot Scope

Technologies have joined the Stephen Gallacher Foundation as competition

sponsors.

While

the Stephen Gallacher Foundation has paid the entry fees for all

potential 72 players in the competition, Shot Scope have ensured the

players will be fully fuelled to play their best golf by covering the

costs of the breakfast rolls and lunch catering for the players and

accompanying teachers on the day.

Pumpherston

Golf Club Junior Convenor, Colin McLean, told us “We were keen to

ensure that we provided some sort of catering for the players as we know

that some pupils in our county may be in receipt of free school meals

and we didn’t want to have anyone in the competition miss out on this

provision.

Shot

Scope are a West Lothian based company and their staff play at many

golf clubs across the county. They didn’t hesitate to provide this

support for the rejuvenation of the High Schools Championship. They have

also offered some products to supplement our prizes on the day which is

incredible.

It’s

really taking my breath away that two high profile West Lothian groups

have been so positive about joining with us and helping to give the

competition a real ‘event’ feel.”

Chief

Commercial Officer at Shot Scope Technologies, Gavin Dear, said “As a

local business, Shot Scope is proud to support the return of the West

Lothian High Schools Golf Championship at Pumpherston after an

eight‑year pause. This event has always been a highlight of the junior

golfing calendar across the region, and helping to bring it back

reflects Shot Scope's commitment to growing the game at every level."

Players

should enter via their school by 20 March and must have provided their

WHS Handicap by 08 May 2026. The competition will be played at the new

home course, Pumpherston Golf Club, on Thursday 4 June. Parents and

spectators welcome.
